Top Design: Season 2, Episode 8
Inspiration can come from anything and in the eighth episode of Top Design, the challenge is all about testing the designers’ ability to design a room around one specific item. The designers will each be presented with an oversized Swarovski chandelier and asked to create a room around its unique and very particular style. Can our designers make a beautiful and functional living space fabulous using a just a light source as inspiration? Simon Doonan, Creative Director of Barneys, will help decide, when he stops by as a guest judge.
Oh there was drama in this episode! The winner was Preston again, and the losers came down to Andrea and Ondine…and before the judges could choose a loser, Andrea decided she wanted to GO HOME! That’s right, she just quit. So, even though Ondine actually was going to be the loser, she got a free pass.
Here is Preston’s winning room. I freaking LOVE those orange chairs:
And this is Andrea’s room, which I also really like. Her chandelier was absolutely magnificent, too. It’s a shame she had to be a weenie and leave early:
And this is Ondine’s “losing” room. It actually sucks, so she should be thanking her lucky stars that Andrea bit the dust early. Ondine’s usually got pretty nice designs, so I’m not sure why this happened:
