Got Game?

Posted by Kamelia on January 8, 2007

Yes, this post is going to be about game rooms. WAIT!!!!! I know if you’re a woman you’re already moving your mouse up to that little “x” up on top, but just give me a second ok? I want to discuss some ideas on how to make your game room a more enjoyable place for the ENTIRE family to spend time, not just the guys… And for those of you who don’t know how to read between my lines yet, when I say “enjoyable to spend time” I mean pretty enough for the woman yet macho enough for the men. Can’t be done? Wanna bet it can? Read what I have to say and if at the end of this article you still think I’m nuts, I’ll…… I’ll….. oh I dunno I’ll do something for you ok?

Z-Lite Billiard LightLets start with the basics… You’re obviously not going to be playing pool or shooting darts in the dark (ok, wait, actually if you’re a guy, this might sound like an interesting idea to you - please just DON’T). So lets talk about lighting fixtures for a minute… You’re gonna love this company called Z-Lite. They make really nice billiard lights in all different colors, shapes, sizes, and designs. I also really like this particular billiard lighting fixture by Nulco… as well as this one by Kenroy (although I think the Kenroy one would look really cool over a bar - one you might have in your game room).

Now lets get down to business… Games! For those of you who are into pool (like me), I found this great site that has tons of pool accessories to choose from at pretty good prices… They also have really cool stuff for decorating your game room. Then you have poker, darts, air hockey, ping pong, and arcades. Ladies, please don’t forget about jukeboxes! The guys at Pinballsales.com have everything you could possibly need…

Hamilton Pool TableGuys, lets be honest for a minute ok? You’re going to be spending a LOT of time in your game room. You’ll probably also be the one deciding exactly what games to get etc. So can you at least let your woman do the furniture arranging and decorating? Women, put some energy into giving the game room a classy look and keep out anything that will make it look like a roadside bar… Yes, if he insists, put up something with neon lights, but try to keep the tackiness to a minimum. Trust me guys, you’ll impress your friends a lot more with a classy, expensive looking game room than a cheap, tacky one.

So how did I do? Do you think I’m nuts? Or….. are you getting excited about your game room now?
